I have sent you by this mail Land Warrant No 78.403 in another letter. Said Warrant was issued to John McDonald Musician N.Y. Militia War 1812

I have a trade on foot for the Watch & Gun for Lot 5 block 165 and have offered $75 in cash with the same. The lot in good ties was valued at $500 and it will be a good trade. I will charge it up.

The addition to our office is getting along finely and will be a great improvement. Mr. Finch has not yet returned. And if he does not return, it will be impossible to rent our office.

I hope you have sent that money as I hope to make something off of it. Money is getting more plenty here and the accounts from the Gold mines, continue good. There will be a rush there in the spring as it is now proven that gold exists in

paying quantities. The mines are at Cherry Creek, not Pikes Peak, and in Nebraska not Kansas as you will see by this weeks paper. The excitement is great all through the Western State and Spring will dot the plains West of us with the Gold-hunters.

It is very dull here, and the Sun shines to day for the first time in a month.

Yours truly

J. McConihe
