Dear Sir
I send you this day my estimates to build the road from Green River to the east line of the state of California in five and ten years.
Will send report and estimate of work done in the mountains last season early next week. Have three drivers at work on temporary bridge. Water rose yesterday and drove men off of the work. The ice is rapidly [running] out of the Loup Fork and in a few days all will be clear.
I find it very difficult to get the piles for the temporary work, shall put in those delivered for the permanent work if the others cannot be delivered fast enough to keep the drivers at work.
Yours very respectfully
Saml. B. Reed
