Letter from Samuel B. Reed to Wife and Family, September 18, 1864

In this letter from September 18, 1864, Samuel Reed writes to his wife and family describing his inability to write sooner and his overall good health.

Thirty miles southwest of Salt Lake City. It has been four weeks yesterday since I have been able to send out a letter. Once of my assistants left the party at Salt Lake City and I have had rather more hard work to do on this trip but have good health.
