Letter from Frank C. Bunley to George P. Cather, May 11, 1878
On May 11, 1878 Frank C. Bunley solicits advice on a potential land purchase in Nebraska from George P. Cather. He also inquires about the proximity of the railroad to Cather's land.

Mr. George. P. Cather Esq.
Dear sir
yours of the 8th is at hand. Glad to hear from you I am Working on a farm 3 miles N.W. of hastings. I should be glad to come down there now but I have agread [sic] to stay here till the 1st of June. I will try to & be there the first of next month. If you should write again, which I should be very glad to have you do, tell me how near you think the New railroad will become to your Place. also what kind of land that $2 50/100 quarters is, if it is very rough, if you should come up to hastings again before I come down I should be glad to see you if you come up & have time to come out here, you go north on hastings

avenue till you come to a house & garden that is fenced in on the East side of the street, it is about 18 rods from the railroad or there abouts, the mans [sic] name is hersey [sic] . I am working for his soninlaw [sic] by the name Haynewood. he goes to town often & I go some times & you might find me there per chance.
do you think I had better buy That $2 50/100 quarter, I wish you would give me a little advice on the subject. I had a letter from my brotherin-law [sic] the other day & he wanted to know if I could buy some land for him in his name how is that. I must close hoping to hear from you again I am as ever your friend & c
