In his September 20, 1927 letter to George P. Cather, D.F. Jewell asks about the possibility of buying or leasing some of Cather's land or selling or trading his own.

Dear Sir:
Should you care to dispose of or rent S. E 1/4 of 6 let me kno [sic] .
I own N. 1/2 of 6 want to buy more to or sell it, have 2 room house well across the road.
Land values are off here so I am offering it for $8,000 - $3,500 cash, $4,500 three years at 6%.
Perhaps you have some one you could sell it to and rent them yours. I will allow you one hundred dollars commission if you send me

a buyer.

P.S. I would consider trade on section gross land near here, or Sidney, Nebr.
Should you not be interested at this time please keep me in mind should you care to rent your land.
You might tell a reality [sic] man about this land should you not care to handle proposition
