Letter from B. F. Noble to George P. Cather, [1878, Oct 5]

In a letter dated October 5, 1878, B.F. Noble writes to George P. Cather from Franklin County, Ohio, about the relative quality of the land available in Nebraska. Noble particularly wants land "within 2 or 3 miles of Railroad and Church." He indicates that his interest in Nebraska land was spurred by publications put forth by a railroad company.

Dear Sir I am refered to you as an agent of the B. M. R. RR. Please give me a Description of their Lands & the health & pruductiveness [sic] of of the Republican River Valley I want land within 2 or 3 miles of Railroad & Church Could A man with 20,00 [sic] Dollars fix himself so that he Could make A living

right along myself & 2 sons propose to go out & see next spring if we live we had thought of going to the limestone belt in Northern Kanses untill [sic] we had some of your Rail road [sic] company maps & sent us is your lands Limestone lands that will raise wheat like the Michigan lands right along that is what I want what is worth now at Catherton
