In this January 22, 1870 letter, Samuel Reed writes to his wife and family describing an outing to the museum at Harvard College, as he has yet to hear from the Union Pacific Company regarding his accounts.

I have just had a message from Mr. Dillon that he will be here Tuesday morning. I hope that by that time the accounts will be in shape for settlement. Yesterday I spent two or three hours pleasantly in the museum of the Cambridge University.
