Tearing Up Tracks

This article from the July 21, 1877 issue of the Baltimore Sun describes the damage rioters caused to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's tracks near Lee Street in Baltimore.

TEARING UP TRACKS.

The track on which the train carrying the troops was to pass was torn up from Lee street, along Ohio avenue, to Cross street. About 9:15 P. M. some person unknown started engine No. 407 on the track out of the city under a head of steam with no one in the cab to direct it. The platform of the station on Lee street was torn up and the dispatcher's office nearly demolished.
