One tariff which was needed, Mr. Bryan declared, was a tariff on a foreign financial policy. There were many men who were talking for "sound money" who when asked what "sound money" meant would say "honest money." But the bimetallists knew what they wanted and what effect it would. They were for real "honest money." Mr. Bryan spoke of the inconsistency of the goldbug speakers in not upholding their platform, which declares that they want bimetallism as soon as it can be obtained by international agreement, and of the agitation for a change to bimetallism among the people of all gold standard countries. He urged all to help send Judge Duffle to congress to help pass a free silver bill for him to sign, and to keep on putting crosses on their tickets for the bimetallic candidates, than whom none were more deserving than Governor Holcomb, whom he introduced.
