About the Project

Crossing Oklahoma began as a project by Robert J. Voss as an advanced history project for Dr. William Thomas' Digital History class at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in the spring of 2007. It is a different approach to the history of Indian Territory and the issues faced by people in the region.  The web project is supported by the History Department at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Robert J. Voss is a PhD. student at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln studying the impact of technology and culture in ninteenth century America. His prior work includes investigations into the social and cultural development of Territorial Nebraska and the West.  He is interested in developing digital tools for the humanities beyond his personal work, making them available and important to public use.
